Masterchef Judge John Torode and renowned TV chef Valentine Warner, along with food writer Mark Diacono, will bring plenty of sizzle to this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival.
They’ll show off their finely honed skills and share words of culinary wisdom in the Festival Theatre, supported by Great Little Breaks, in the heart of the lively Festival Green, sponsored by Worcester Bosch.
A wide range of culinary talent and experts will join John, Valentine and Mark in their Grow & Cook theatre kitchen, showcasing a bounty of great British produce. Guests include passionate foodies Martin and Jill Fish who’ll showcase delectable dishes from their book Gardening on the Menu.
Head of Show, Diana Walton, said: “We know our gardening fans love good food almost as much as their plants so we’ve put together a fantastic spread of wonderful produce from our own three counties and beyond. Having the huge wealth of experience of John, Valentine and Mark to share with our visitors is terrific. We can’t wait to hear their top tips and to sample some of the delicious food that will be on offer.”
John will whip up tasty recipes that combine his no-nonsense Aussie cooking with the fantastic flavours of the Far East. From brilliant breakfast dishes and creative curries to flavoursome noodles, he’ll share his passion for food inspired by his upbringing and extensive travels through Thailand, Malaysia, China and Korea. He’ll also give a sneak preview of extracts from his new book John’s Torode’s Sydney to Seoul, due to be released May 31.
Valentine will share his signature style of seasonal, simple, robust and flavoursome food from his four best selling cookery books. Bridging the gap between food and gardening, Mark will bring advice from his home, the celebrated Otter Farm as well as his experience as head gardener at River Cottage.
The Grow & Cook Theatre will play host to a bustling line up of workshops and demonstrations from expert chefs on an array of topics over the four-day festival.
John Torode will be at the festival on Thursday and Friday whizzing up a selection of delectable botanical cocktails with Mark Diacono and chat to gardening guru Alan Titchmarsh on his favourite dishes.
Valentine Warner will enjoy a cheeky tipple as he teams up with Plants 4 Presents to showcase a variety of cocktails that can be crafted from carefully selected windowsill ingredients. He’ll also join Mark Diacono and much-loved British gardeners Joe Swift and Carol Klein for talks on Saturday and Sunday.
An array of world street food will fill the festival green with the tempting aroma of fresh and exotic flavours. Visitors can tuck into Spanish, Thai and Greek dishes while relaxing and watching a talk from the Festival Theatre. In the Food and Drink Pavilion, there will be plenty of fresh produce from the likes of Hilltop Farm and Continental Bakery as well as fine cheeses from Neal’s Yard. There will also be a wide range of sweet treats and specialist drinks from across the country.
RHS Malvern Spring Festival brings to the fore the finest in both food and gardening. Visitors can expect stunning show gardens and nursery displays alongside a bounty of food producers, eclectic shopping and top tips from celebrity chefs and garden experts alike.
The Godfather of Gardening Alan Titchmarsh and Queen of our Hearts Carol Klein will also be headlining RHS Malvern Spring Festival. The two legendary icons will take to the stage as the landmark gardening and food festival returns to the Three Counties Showground this May.
