RICHMOND VILLAGES PROMOTE LIVING WELL AT RHS MALVERN SPRING FESTIVAL

Another new sponsor to add to the growing portfolio of valued partners for RHS Malvern Spring Festival.  Richmond Villages, owned by Bupa, has signed to sponsor at the prestigious RHS Malvern Festival this year with specific naming rights to the popular Live Well Zone.  New for 2017, the Live Well zone shone a spotlight firmly on the positive benefits of gardening to our health and wellbeing.  Mobilising gardening and craft activities within the community really can achieve inspiring results and this message underpins the features and activity planned in the zone for 2018.  Redefining retirement living with their luxury villages, currently totalling seven around the UK, Richmond Villages places the same importance on caring for your physical and mental wellbeing which inevitably can pay dividends with a long and fruitful retirement.

Village Manager, Paul Brady, explains: “We are opening a new luxury retirement village between Evesham and Pershore in 2019 called Richmond Wood Norton.  It will provide 61 spacious retirement apartments, designed for independent living, as well as 46 Village Suites for assisting living.  For added reassurance the village will also house a luxury care home providing exemplary nursing and dementia care.  That said, we are hoping that our presence at the festival will be of significant interest to many of the visitors in attendance.  Sponsorship of the Live Well Zone felt like the right choice for us because of our shared ‘living well’ values and it represented a timely opportunity to announce the arrival of our new village Richmond Wood Norton.”

Sponsorship Account Manager, Claire Blackford comments: “We are delighted that Richmond Villages has come aboard to sponsor Live Well this year.  They have a fantastic proposition for many of our visitors who are retired and who are considering living in a retirement village that provides not only a safe environment filled with plenty of social activity but a luxury one too.  We are looking forward to working closely with Richmond to help them embed Richmond Wood Norton into our visitors’ consciousness through our marketing ventures as well as their exciting ideas for activity at the Festival. We hope that this is a partnership that will endure long beyond the Festival this year.”

The display of delights to be found in Live Well this year include the fabulous Work of Heart Garden, the world’s first knitted show garden installation in aid of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.  Promising to be a real spectacle, the backstory is touching as it centres around Gloucestershire widow Clare Young’s inspired idea to create a knitted garden in memory of her late husband to raise funds for the hospice that cared for him.  The permanent Health & Wellbeing Garden designed by Jekka McVicar for last year’s Festival continues to hold pride of place in the zone alongside a community art installation in the form of a ‘mandala’ by Hellens Garden Festival made from recycled materials which visitors can add to during the course of the festival.  Pop-up treatment tents providing relaxing pampering sessions, the Children’s Great Exhibition art competition and a display of raised beds from Link Nurseries’ Well Bean Garden Club also feature and aim to showcase the value that horticulture and other craft based activities play in caring for or recovering from mental ill-heath.

Come along to the Live Well zone this year to meet the friendly Richmond Villages’ team and learn more about not just ‘living well’ but ‘living in luxury’ in your retirement.  Tickets are now on sale for RHS Malvern Spring Festival, which takes place from Thursday 10 May until Sunday 13 May 2018.  Children enter for free under the age of 16 throughout the festival.
